PLANNERS
The students will each have a planner where they will be writing their daily assignments in. It is their responsibility to write their assignments in. They will have a key on the inside of their planners to let you know which ones have been completed, which ones need to be completed, which ones will need to be turned in, and which ones are for them to keep to be gone over as a class.
Fourth grade is a year of learning how to be organized and how to study, so your job will be to sign their planners nightly after you have discussed with your child what they have for work and that all is completed.

BEHAVIOR PLAN
The students will each have their own checkbooks. Each day the students come to school, they will receive $1.00 (one PI BUCK). They will also get these randomly for doing good deeds like bringing back their weekly letter signed, helping someone that needs it, picking up paper in the halls or classroom, raising their hand, being good listeners, etc. The money their earn will be used to buy social privileges at the end of each month like, movies, game time, choice of seating for the day, sledding, etc. The money is also used to help promote organizational skills like remembering to bring everything into the room in the morning, keeping track of their papers, so as not to need another copy, etc. If they don’t do these things it costs them a PI Buck. The checkbooks also contribute to extra math skills that they will use later in their lives.
Late Homework Slips-
At the start of the each trimester your child will receive 4 “excused late homework” coupons. If and when they have a late assignment, they can use one of their coupons to turn in. This will give them one extra day to get it done. They will still get full credit. If it is not done the next day, they will need to use another coupon. Once these coupons have been used, all late work will be recorded in the grade book as a 0. No credit will be given for the assignment. I would like to stress that mistakes are wonderful opportunities to learn. We all make mistakes and all of us at times forget to do things. Your child will let you know when they have had to use a late slip. It will be written in their assignment notebooks. If it happens too often, you may want to sit with your child and come up with a plan to help prevent this from happening again.
